Digital Electronics
Digital electronics is a little more abstract than analog electronics. The digital signals within the system can have only two possible conditions or states. A signal can be on (1) or off (0). Digital electronics is the branch of electronics and these are composed with digital behavior. The digital system is usually easier to understand than analog systems.
In common, the digital electronic signals are manipulated mathematically in two levels. These mathematical operations are known as boolean algebra. Boolean algebra is performed by gates like NOT, AND, OR, and XOR, plus various combinations of these gates. Digital signals have only a limited set of states, they are responsible to error-correction techniques. This is the important advantage of digital electonics over analog electronics.
The field of digital electronics is exciting, fast moving, and constantly changing. The light is a digital system. It can have either on or off stage. A digital system can be defined as one in which all communication within the system is carried out in a digital manner.
The brain of products such as personal computers, microwave ovens, compact disc players (CD players), and video cassette players and many more products are composed of digital electronics. Without digital electronics the world would be very different than today.
